Hello! We wanted to let our families, friends an followers know we will be taking a break from the blog for the rest of the month of April! We hope you enjoy the rest of your Sprinter (Spring + Winter a term I learned from the kids at school -haha!). We will see you in May!

Weekly Video/Photo

The weekly Video/Photo section highlights an Adventure, while I might also sneak in some that are humorous, adorable, or just other fun dog moments. If you have followed my blog from the beginning you know that I adopted Shadow as a puppy, and about a year later adopted Buster as a puppy.  We had many wonderful years together before experiencing the devastating loss of Buster at just seven.  It took a long time for our hearts to heal, but almost a year after his passing we welcomed little Wilma into our world.  We were devastated to lose Shadow on April 3, 2020.These two precious boys will be furever in our hearts! We were recently thrilled to add another amazing rescue, Gus, to our home on June 28, 2021! This Weekly Video/Photo section will allow me to share photos from all four of my rescues, whether it be a precious memory, or a current moment.

Today’s photo is one of Wilma and Gus at the Arnold Arboretum, one of my favorite places to walk. Surprisingly I have not been there in a long time, but I have just been thinking it is time to get back to the Arboretum, so the perfect time for this adorable snapshot. Wilma and Gus were posing on one of the bridges back in April of 2023. I am looking forward to more signs of spring, but I know there is hope of that when I look back at these old photographs. Here they are:

March 31, 2024 – Rebar Sculpture Exhibit – Massachusetts

Yesterday, Wilma, Gus, and I Adventured to the Rebar Sculpture Exhibit in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The Rebar Sculpture Exhibit promotes the work of French Artist Joel “Djo” Vallon, featuring three pieces: a whale, penguin, and a chimp. This artwork was initiated and made possible by businessman Pierre Coll, and can be found at 20 North Park Avenue in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

We had a unique Adventure to the Rebar Sculpture Exhibit. I found out about these sculptures when searching for the next artwork that would be replacing the ever-popular fiberglass seashells that previously covered Plymouth. Although not the replacement art, these sculptures looked lovely and just right for a stop on the way back from our local walk. I was planning on looking them up, however actually drove by them on the way to our walk, so had no issues locating them. I was immediately drawn to the chimp, so detailed, and really just adorable. We checked out each structure, and of course I could not resist taking photographs of the nearby daffodils, finally some hope and color of spring. The exhibit was just the three sculptures, but just what we needed for the day. Wilma and Gus posed, while Gus noted every person and noise in our vicinity. So glad we could check out Mr. Vallon’s Rebar sculptures (this blog will not be rated).

Happy Easter!!

Wilma and Gus wanted to wish all of our friends, family, and followers a Happy Easter! 🙂 We enjoyed a long walk in Plymouth, and spent the rest of the day outside, appreciating this unusual warm day. It was so nice seeing the sun! I am often missing Tampa and this weather helps, well just a bit. Wilma, Gus, and I did some bunny ear posing 🙂 and of course had to share our favorites here. I hope everyone had a Happy Easter!

And of course a blast from the past…. I am sad to say I could not find any bunny ear photos of Buster….not sure if I have any actually…. 😦

Today I thought I would share a photo my friend Kathy took at Alderman’s Ford Park in Lithia, Florida. As some of you may know Wilma, Gus, and I took a road trip to the Tampa area back in February 2022. I lived in Tampa for eleven years and it was amazing bringing these two on this journey exploring some of my favorite parks, and even some new ones, like this one taken at Alderman’s Ford Park. Such a special memory I will always have of our adventure in Florida, and one of my favorite photos of the three of us ever! Hope to someday get the pups back there again. Here we are:

Wilma is 7 -Happy Birthday!!

Today I am thankful to wish my special girl Wilma Mae a Happy 7th Birthday!! She joined us as a puppy and was lucky to have years with Shadow and now almost three years with Gus! She is a super smart girl, loves belly rubs and sunbathing, playing with little brother Gus and is skilled and determined of convincing me of just about anything (haha). We have been partying the weekend away and today celebrated with cake and presents with my parents!! She enjoyed a lobster toy, and Gus an octopus toy, and two birthday themed toys. It took her a minute to decide to start her cake, but she soon devoured it and was quite happy. Gus got a cupcake of his own although I managed to sneak him a couple bites of cake (shhh). A fun celebration and a good excuse for some family time. Happy Birthday my sweet girl!

Today I thought I would share a video of Shadow and Buster playing with their best bud Hera who we hung out regularly with when we resided in Florida. I am so sad to say Hera passed away today. She was so sweet and well behaved, and these three had endless play sessions. We lived pretty close to Hera and her dad’s home, so would often walk over for hours of play time. It is a wonderful memory I have of our last year in Florida. Hera was lucky to live a long and well-loved life. Our thoughts are with her family as they face this devastating time. Hope the three pups are reunited rumbling away in dog heaven! Cheers to these three amazing pups!

PS – I think we were just as entertained as the dogs watching this stick keep away – they always make me smile!

March 17, 2024 – Happy St. Patrick’s Day

Wilma, Gus, and I wanted to wish you a Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!! Although this is one of those holidays I do not celebrate I figured a good excuse for a photo shoot! Are they not adorable?! We have just been on local walks this weekend but are quite thankful that the weather is a bit warmer – perfect for lots of outdoor time. Hope you all have enjoyed your weekend as well!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!!

March 9, 2024 – Cape Cod, Massachusetts

Today Wilma, Gus, and I Adventured to Cape Cod, Massachusetts.  Cape Cod is a peninsula in the Atlantic Ocean off the southeastern corner of Massachusetts. It is a popular summer destination known for the laid-back lifestyle. Cape Cod draws tourists for its beaches, lighthouses, ponds, villages, and the seafood shacks and restaurants.

We had a cloudy, yet well-needed Adventure to Cape Cod. It had been awhile since we have been on a day trip so we were long ready for some fun! Our stops today included: the Sagamore Recreation Area, Drummer Boy Park, Scargo Tower, Nauset Light, Coast Guard Beach, Sandwich Center, and a nameless beach along Provincetown Harbor. We started our day with a long walk along the Cape Cod Canal Bike Trail. Although the scenery is simple on the Canal, it is the perfect place for a stroll. From there we went from stop to stop enjoying the fresh air and exploring, taking photographs, and of course posing grandly (haha!) Our favorite parts were strolling on the beaches, and exploring the leftover shells, crabs, and creatures. Both pups were immediately energized on the beach, Wilma running in circles and trying to play, while Gus digging wildly, so fun to watch. Although I would not consider myself a huge fan of Cape Cod, I can say that the beaches with dunes are beyond spectacular. So glad we could enjoy a daytrip in Cape Cod today (this blog will not be rated).

Today’s photo is one of Gus relaxing as he watches my every move! I sometimes think he does not know he is a dog as he loves pillows and blankets (haha)! Although I guess all my dogs have, he seems to be especially human-like in his sleeping habits 🙂 I am happy to share this sweet boy for today’s post! Here he is:
